Go to jacket
This shell has become my go to for all wet and cold conditions. I have several waterproof and non waterproof shells and always grab this one. Highly waterproof and great in rain and snow but also works well in cold conditions allowing for a small layer underneath to block wind and keep you warm in dry in all conditions. Has been very durable over a couple of seasons of use. Being able to pack it so small and being very lightweight makes it an easy choice to bring along if there’s a chance of bad weather.

Good jacket for mountaineering too
I have had this jacket for a year now and am very pleased with the light weight and design. This jacket has a large hood that fits over a helmet which some complain about for biking but is super when in the mountains and need wind and rain protection with a climbing helmet. I have used it on a week long bike trip in the summer too and it has kept me dry as expected. The zippers are easy to use with gloves and has proven to be plenty durable when subjected to normal use on the bike and in the alpine. I am 5'11", 170lbs and 39" chest and I find the Medium fits me best with room for an insulating layer and no constriction. I opted for the 3 layer Gore-tex of this jacket over the 2. 5 layer Co-pilot for better breathability and durability. 5 stars for the Skypilot especially for its multisport chops!

Waterproof still breathable. Really.
well you have heard about this impossible combo before, and probably have more than one jacket in your wardrobe that did not meet the hype. well the skypilot does. nearly as perfect as the sadly no longer available resistance jacket. whao. so why only four stars for the skypilot? well for one a hood has for me really no place on a bicycle jacket. it is a great windcatcher more than anything else. and the fabric is on the stiff side, might however soften with time? so room for a little improvement. but is your urge here and now a breathable still waterproof jacket? look no further. if you look in-house 7mesh you might be tempted by their cashe jacket as an alternative. well so it is, for sedate activities. breathability is clearly better on the skypilot.
