Built with two different weights of GORE-TEX® Pro the Thunder Pant offers unparalleled water protection, best-in-class breathability and exceptional durability. Wear them for the whole ride, or pull them out when the weather threatens to send you home. Put them on while already wearing shoes – even over other pants – thanks to the watertight ½ leg zippers and stretch, velcro cuffs. Dial in the perfect fit with our new cut to length cuffs.

Designed to sit slightly off the body, Trim Fit products provide some room for light layering and feature mechanical (fabric) stretch or elastane, combined with articulated patterns.

Trim Fit

I’m slim, and fall under the max measurements of the medium and the medium fits true. I’m wearing these in combination with the TK1 bib tight also in medium which fit perfectly. With the TK1s underneath the pants are slightly tight in the knees but not significantly enough to bother me to the point I’d want to sacrifice the fit to size up. The seat and waist are on point and wouldn’t want them any looser. Im a 32x32. The articulation does the trick. Now the one draw back and it’s kind of a big one because the pants are so close to perfectly dialed is that the adjustable waist straps are too short. The straps have to be completely removed from the clips to get the pants on and because the straps are so short are a pain to fit back through the closures and get closed down once on. Just a little too minimal there. The photos don’t show the waist but the waist is low. Not an issue for me but it’s not obvious from the images and might be a surprise if you’re not expecting that. Super waterproof and so far nice and rugged stellar West Coast winter riding pants!

Fit is everything

Tried other brands rain pants but the fit and protection Thunder pants provides is just superior!

Best rain pants for gravel!

I have done several rides in completely sodden conditions and these pants have kept me dry. Usually, I find even supposed waterproof trousers and shorts leak through the seat but so far so good on these.

My only issue is that I definitely ride more conservatively as I don't want to damage them.

Great Wet Weather Pants

Generally I love 7Mesh gear. The Revelation jacket ( I've bought two(2) is superb ). These are really expensive and I angsted a long time before pulling the trigger. Bummer - major disappointment ! My major complaint is the baggy knees - fabulous if you want to fit knee guards underneath, but baggy and noisy without, making for an irritating distraction on gravel or road. The sizing was problematic - I've got short legs and am thin,, and buying the waist appropriate small left the legs way too long despite trimming to the max, exacerbating the baggy noisy effect. The up side is they're waterproof as advertised.

I use these every day in the winter; easy to don/doff, great mobility, totally dry, and bomber cuffs. I needed a larger size than I’d normally get, because they’re an over-pant. Hoping there’ll be a fly by the time I wear these out, but that’ll be awhile (they’re rugged). Customer service was fantastic when I exchanged sizes!

Love these

So far so good. Looking for waterproof biking pants that don’t leave you feeling sticky and damp and don’t flop in the breeze and fit for the knee flexed position of riding. All goals met with slim but comfortable waist and snug ankle binders. Hopefully will be my forever rain pants
