FURTHER Landscapes: The Pyrenees

This weekend, FURTHER Perseverance, the first of three events in the 2025 series, kicks off, and being the inaugural year of the 7mesh x FURTHER partnership, we're beyond excited for things to get underway.

In this years preliminary event, riders will traverse through the legendary Pyrenees, venturing deep into the high mountains of the Ariège region, long associated with legends of the Holy Grail, and along a route that blurs borders, time, and terrain.

With an early morning start high along the plateaux of Rulhe, France, where wild Mérens horses still roam as they did in the days of Julius Caesar, riders immediately fall into the rhythm of the Pyrenees—an environment as rich in history as it is in altitude.

Following terrain known for demanding everything from you, riders will experience long, grinding climbs, fast and loose descents, and crossings that test focus as much as endurance. One moment the route flows; the next, it becomes a slow, punishing push.

Crisscrossing borders between France, Andorra, and Spain over five times, riders will pass through wild, remote landscapes on rugged trails once used by smugglers, resistance fighters, and pilgrims. All using paths etched into the mountains long before modern roads.

Far more than a race, FURTHER Perserverance is an immersion into the raw spirit of the Pyrenees, untamed, unforgiving, and unforgettable. By the time riders return to the finish line at the Refuge du Rulhe, they’ll carry more than fatigue. They’ll carry a story written in effort, resilience, and adventure - and one we can't wait to hear.
