Relaxed Fit

This has quickly become my go-to winter/spring layering piece. Easily the most versatile riding jacket that I have owned! Great for those chilly descents and the stash system is perfect when you get toasty on the climbs. 10/10 recommend!

One Stop Shell

If you're an active, outdoor lover that rides, hikes, runs (or anything else in similar categories) and is looking for a packable, lightweight, fast drying and insanely comfortable outer layer for mild, showery weather this is a must. Because of the attention to detail 7mesh has, you'll notice the shell doesn't drape off you like a wet plastic bag when wet and instead holds its shape superbly. The Stashsystem is a winner, no questions asked - fit to your bike and forget until you need it.

Faultless for it's intentions

I was skeptical to purchase this jacket as I have never had much use for light jackets like this. However this jacket has come in handy for me this summer with all the rain we have received. It is light, it breathes well, and it is water resistant which has helped on my commutes home in the rain and on my gravel rides. It packs down small, and with the fantastic straps it fits snugly on the top tube off my bikes. XL large fits me perfectly (6')

Love this Jacket

Actually the best and most flexible jacket in the range but unfortunately with weaknesses in detail.

First of all, I really like 7mesh, the idea behind it, the story, absolutely terrific and it's a mystery to me how 7mesh manages to make their stuff so thin, light and airy and yet robust ....

The Northwood is absolutely brilliant, I wear the jacket at 10 degrees or even in windy 20 degrees, the temperature is always perfect. The jacket just feels great, the feel-good factor is remarkable. I wear the jacket when cycling, running or walking and so far I have been super satisfied, until two things changed ....

Firstly, I bought a larger backpack with a hip belt and an Apple Watch Ultra and I noticed two negative things about the Northwood.

The jacket is just too long. I'm 1.85 tall and wear a medium and the jacket covers my trouser pockets, it's a pain to have to completely open the hip belt of the backpack to push the jacket up to access the contents of my trouser pockets. I also think the jacket is cut a little too wide, with the hip belt folded down you look like a mushroom in the jacket, the jacket bulges out in a big arc underneath, visually just awful but since it only refers to the backpack with hip belt, I don't deduct a point in my rating for this, the jacket is too good in all other disciplines and so far I'm at 5 stars ....

However, there is one thing I cannot accept, not for a jacket for 160€, and that is the cuff. It's so unyielding, it's a pain to uncover the ultra. I had problems with my app that records my workout, it kept interrupting the workout and I wanted to manually control the workout on the watch. I almost fell twice because I couldn't get the wristband of the Northwood over this stupid watch, the wristband kept getting caught on the watch.

Dear 7mesh team, it is an absolute impertinence to offer such a rigid and unyielding wristband and your otherwise very good jacket drops to two stars. It can't be difficult to use a flexible elasticated waistband, as you managed to do with the Callaghan Merino Hoody.

Grandiose but the famous details ....

Fantastic jacket and used it in and off the bike. Keeps the wind off and survived a heavy Scottish rain shower keeping me warm and dry. I would normally order a large but medium is a better fit for the bike. Packs down small and great for travelling as well as on the bike.

Brilliant Wind Jacket

This is a favourite “just in case” layer that packs down small enough to stuff in a jersey pocket or small hip sack, and the straps are a nice touch if you don’t have pockets. Really nice to keep light rain off or cut the wind chill for those cold starts or unpredictable weather days!

Perfect just in case layer

Most only think that Vegas is a hot place and indeed it is for 4 months out of the year. The rest of the time it can get cold and windy-thus the Northwoods jacket that I've used a few times out on the trails in upper 30's low 40's layered. Jacket runs true to size, is light and easy to put away. Can handle very light rain but nothing other than that. As for the non collapsible hood it's fine you get used to it and it comes in handy. Only with the jacket had hand pockets.

Sorry to say this but this must be the worst jacket I have ever bought. It is about as breathable as a plastic bag, which might just be ok if it was waterproof, but it isn't (nor is it advertised to be so that at least is ok). It is just about useful as a light windproof layer, provided you enjoy wearing a mobile sauna. Worth about CHF 20, certainly not cHF 200.

Sorry to say this but

I don't know how I managed without this.

Such a versatile jacket, it looks great, feels super comfy and takes up no space. I use it for MTB and gravel but it's so good its replace my climbing and mountaineering wind shell.

The fabric is tough and feels and looks good, it performs really well too really breathable and keeps out some heavy showers. I must have used it once a week for six months and it shows no signs of wear.

The fit is great, the hood is perfect over a helmet the dropped back never rides up. The cuffs are also shaped well and the collar has some nice soft fabric on it so it feels comfy against your skin.

The only thing I would say is compared to normal UK sizing its big. If your between sizes I'd buy the smaller one.

I don't know how I
