Men's Freeflow Jacket - Thermal Bike Jacket

Designed to sit slightly off the body, Trim Fit products provide some room for light layering and feature mechanical (fabric) stretch or elastane, combined with articulated patterns.

Trim Fit

This is the perfect jacket for those shoulder season adventures when you aren't sure just how long the ride will take or if the weather will take a horrendous turn. With the stash system I strap it to my bars or frame and forget about, until I really need it. Between the Polartec insulation for guaranteed warm and it's packability with the stash system it really is a one of a kind jacket allowing the adventures to go longer into the shoulder season.

The best 'get out of jail warm' jacket

I love the fluffy polartec interior, great fit and a warm yellow color. 186cm and 110 kilo and got the xxl, fits me perfect!

Light and warm

This jacket hits five stars in so many areas, super warm, good fit, nice stash pocket, crazy like and packable and super windproof. However it has one serious flaw for me, no two way zip. This makes it impossible to quickly vent it and so moisture builds up to such an extent that it becomes unrideable in - water was literally trickling into my gloves. A far from ideal scenario on a long ride! If you don’t ride hard or sweat much this maybe a perfect jacket for you.

So close but no coconut!

I adore this jacket for spring and late / early winter riding. It would be perfect except please for the love of god add a double zipper. Warm riding jackets without the ability to unzip from the bottom are extremely mid.

This thing just doesn’t breathe. As others noted, moisture just builds up inside to an incredible degree. I also have the Rebellion jacket with goretex active and I honestly believe it breathes better than this. A rare miss for 7mesh. I would *highly* recommend the Cypress jacket instead. That jacket blocks the wind and also somehow breathes incredibly well. Paired with the ashlu jersey today I did 15mi and was both completely comfortable and completely dry at ride’s end.

Does not breathe

I guess I give this a 4 but probably should be a half star less. This jacket is almost great. It was a replacement for what I really wanted. It ticks several of the boxes: light weight, looks great, wind resistant, great fit. And it was much much warmer than I expected. The downside: the one-way zipper on a jacket is always a tough one. I love to be able to open up the jacket from the bottom to regulate heat. And with this jacket, that would be essential since breathability on this one is not good. No moisture management. Which was surprising to me. Oh well, you cannot win them all.

Warmer than expected

I am 5' 8" and 165lbs and bought a size Medium which fit perfect. The styling of the jacket and fit were excellent. I was able to layer underneath and still had good room in the torso and reach in the sleeves to the bars. I used this jacket in temperatures of 5 degrees while road cycling and climbing one of our local mountain roads. While climbing, this jacket did NOT breathe very well at all. Perspiration did not evaporate through the material, and instead collected on the inside of the jacket and insulation. I had to take the jacket off in 5 degree weather to wipe the moisture collected on the inside of the jacket before the descent. Look and styling great. But, technically not great for moderate efforts.

Breathability an Issue

Excellent bit of kit. Sizing is spot on for me, I'm 179cm / 77kg and 100cm chest with a size M. Excellent finish and love the option to clip them around the top tube / bars when you don't need it. 

Polartec lined sleeves are great, cuffs are tight but will prevent wind coming in so definitely serves a purpose.

Fantastic fit and finish

Once the jacket is on it does a great job, however, getting it on and off is a bit of a wrestling match.
I'm 5' 8" and 155lbs and the medium is perfect but the cuffs are way too tight resulting in the orange fleece lining poking out from the cuffs when putting it on and the only way I can get the jacket off is to pull my arms backwards in the sleeves turning them inside out. I don't have Popeye sized hands, just regular sized but I have noticed this is an issue with nearly all 7Mesh jackets that I have tried.
Breathability is okay but could be better when using the jacket at around 0C.

Freeflow jacket

The Alpha Insulation is very warm and comfortable; so soft! The backing fabric breathes well and is quiet. The way you can attach the packed jacket to your bike is ingenious.
The fit is ok: bear in mind there is no material stretch this jacket. If you want to wear this off the bike too you may want to size up.
My only gripe is the decision not to use alpha direct. The alpha fabric used in this jacket is a separate layer that can slide around separate to the outer fabric. In my experience this leads to the insulation in the sleeves sometimes being pushed out when i push my hand through, resulting in me having to poke it back in place.
