January 2025 – Meaghan Hackinen, the reigning 2024 Tour Divide Women’s Champion, is setting her sights on a new challenge: become the first woman ever to complete the full Mountain Race Series in a single year. This demanding trio of ultra-endurance bikepacking races—Atlas Mountain Race, Hellenic Mountain Race, and Silk Road Mountain Race—pushes riders through some of the most remote and challenging race conditions on the planet, and we can't wait to see Meaghan take it on.
Kicking off this weekend, February 7th, the Atlas Mountain Race in Morocco sets the stage with 1,300 km of rugged desert terrain and punishing climbs. Next up, the Hellenic Mountain Race in Greece throws riders into 880 km of relentless elevation gain through unforgiving mountain landscapes. Finally, the Silk Road Mountain Race—the longest and most brutal of the three—pushes racers across 1,950 km of Kyrgyzstan’s high-altitude passes, where unpredictable weather and extreme remoteness make every kilometre a battle.

No stranger to pushing boundaries, a two-time NorthCape 4000 winner and multiple ultra-race podium finisher, Meaghan thrives on endurance challenges that test both physical resilience and mental grit. Her victory in the Tour Divide cemented her reputation as one of the world’s top ultra-endurance cyclists, and now, she’s taking on her biggest challenge yet.
“Each of these races is a beast in its own right,” says Meaghan. “Taking them on back-to-back is going to be a massive test, but that’s exactly why I’m drawn to it. It’s about seeing what’s possible.”
With thousands of kilometres of unassisted, off-road racing ahead, Meaghan’s attempt will be a true test of endurance, logistics, and determination. If successful, she will make history as the first woman to complete the full Mountain Race Series in a single season.
