Men's Cypress Hybrid Vest

New Colours
A streamlined and superlight pocket-packable wind vest, built with a windproof front and a 4-way stretch back for a bespoke-like fit.

Have a question? We'd love to hear about your next adventure.

A packable, water-resistant road wind vest (or gilet to our European friends) is a ride essential.

We built the Cypress Hybrid Vest for cold starts and blowy days. Wear it from the start of the ride, or pull it out of a rear jersey pocket when the wind picks up or the descent beckons. And we made it with almost silent GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ Active front treated with a durable water-resistant finish. To the rear, a 4-way stretch woven fabric creates a trim fit, venting heat during intense efforts to balance your temperature uphill and down.

Tailored with a smooth-running front zipper, the Cypress Vest sports twin side vents that double as pass-throughs to access snacks and supplies in your jersey. A gripper elastic hem and well-placed reflective details complete the top.

  • GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ Active 50d Polyester / 2L PU Backer
  • 78% Nylon, 22% Elastane 4 way stretch woven
  • #3 Coated Vislon Front Zip

  • 92g

Product Reviews

  1. Tim

    Unbelievably light protection

Weighs next to nothing, folds down next to nothing, but gives you all the warmth needed on a decent.
  2. Tim

    Skin tight comfort

You won't notice that you're wearing an extra layer, until your blasting that long chilly decent. Wonderful product!
  3. Cytoe

    Runs small

I look like a stuffed sausage in this. I’m a medium in 2 other 7mesh jackets, but I guess not in the “trim” cut. Material feels excellent…will try the large.
  4. Patrick M.

    Shoulder season perfection

Couldn't ask for more from a gilet. Cut, materials, weight are all spot on and just enough to handle changing conditions or lengthy descents. Highly recommended.

    Fabulous function and fit

Picked this up earlier in the summer as the cooler days are already starting. On my first spin with this piece it was about 10C and it provided a great amount of wind protection and kept my temperature nicely regulated. It is a very slim fit and I had to go up one size to ensure a proper fit. I ...

    So packable!

I have this vest always in my back pocket. Perfect wind protection.
  7. Murman

    Cypress Hybrid Vest

A necessary piece for those slightly cool or light rain but too hot for a jacket. Fit perfect with no flapping and I love the wind protection on the front and the breathable back. I am 6’2”, 185lbs and the large fits perfectly. Snug but not too tight.
  8. James

    Perfect layer for can't-decide-what-to-wear days

Provides just the right combination of wind-blocking and lightweight. I can wear it on days where the downhills are cold and the climbs hot, the back could almost not be there it breathes so well, and the wind blocking front is perfect for taking the edge off. Very comfortable, followed the size ...

    What I was looking for

This vest fits great. I've ridden with it now in warm weather, very cold weather, in snow, and in the middle of the night. Providing you layer correctly, it performs great in a number of different situations. Big plus is how small it packs down, which makes it excellent for the days that ...

  10. FJ

    Essential vest.

    Everyday essential.
  11. GI

    Small item, big benefit

Surprised how compact it is and its benefit it provides. This over long sleeve jersey and this with short sleeve and arm warmers has been my go to lately.
  12. Cvachi

    Simply perfect!

Great technical piece of art! Great fit and features: windproof front, stretchy and breathable back, two zip vents. Ordered M to wear it over Callaghan merino jersey and Mission jersey, and will order S to wear over regular short sleeve jersey for more tight and aero fit. The only issue I have is ...

  13. Roberto

    What a vest

Fitting, workmanship, features...everything top notch. Perfect for spring/fall rides in combination with Callaghan jersey.
  14. Pascal

    Piece Of Excellence

Mostly I ride MTB. The need of mobility in the upper body is essential, way more than on the roadbike. That piece feels like a second skin. With less airstream than on the road, the breathability on the MTB is essential. Especially when you are riding with a race or hip belt (for enduro-racers) the ...

  15. Dev

    Mostly Perfect

The vest met its objective and kept me warm on some chilly descents, and could pack up tight when not in use. My only complaint is that I began hearing it fluttering in the wind on occasion despite being fully zipped and that was very much unexpected.

    Choice Layering Piece

The Cypress has been my go to layering piece for those days when its a cold start but warms up to 12-15c by mid day. I cannot recommend this enough. The seam taping on the front panel is as good as any high end mountaineering jacket and the fabric has a very high attention to quality with a very ...

  17. Jonas

    the pocketprotection

Perfect gilet to carry when you're not sure about the weather. Clean look and feel and great two openings on the side to reach the jerseypockets without being bulky closed.
  18. Jamie

    Apparently essential!

After a month of use I can’t imagine not owning this vest. I wear it on every single morning ride before the temp warms up. I pack it for chilly mountain descent or rest stops. I’ve owned a number of other vests but none regulate temperature like this one. Fit is personal but the small fits me ...

  19. DsD

    Dumped my other vests...

I needed a new vest as the ones I had were either too thin and didn't do much or too thick to be able to put in a pocket. The Cypress hits the spot, way more packable than I expected when first looking at it, and no rustling in the wind!

  20. Jordan

    Great gilet!

Great vest for chillier spring and fall days or those high mountain descents. I like that it's long enough in the back to make sure the things in my jersey pockets are covered too. I have the vest in red which is also great for increasing visibility on those lower light days.
  21. Matthias

    Great shelter from the elements

The vest wears extremely comfortable - you hardly notice it.

  22. Bjoern Lenhard

    Athlete Pick

Some of the ultra-endurance events I have participated in during the last couple of years have included alpine passes like Bielerhöhe Pass and Mangart Sedlo. When descending in changeable weather, this windproof vest keeps the upper body warm without making me sweat. Another great feature is its ...

  23. Quinn Moberg

    Athlete Pick

Other than jersey and shorts, the Cypress hybrid vest is my most worn item! Comfortable to wear, easy to get on and off, and gives just the right amount of wind protection for the descent back down.
  24. Peter

The perfect vest. Great fit, fits easily in the back pocket of a jersey, pass through zippers on the back, and the goretex material breathes so much better than the polyester of other brands.
