10-Year Anniversary

As we celebrate ten years in business, we reflect on the standout moments that have defined our journey.

When we first launched 7mesh, our vision was simple: make great things, work with great people, and have more fun while doing it along the way.

A decade later, we've achieved more of those things than we ever imagined. What began as a dream to reshape the cycling industry has evolved into a reality, and a culmination of our life's work to bring new products and technologies to life.

And we’ve grown, a lot, even though we still feel fairly tight-knit. Starting out with a team of 5 we are now 20+ employees, with hundreds of dealers, sales reps, and ambassadors around the world.

So, as we reflect on our 10-years in business, we wanted to look back on some of our highlights over this time—the technologies, accomplishments, and team that’s gone into making us who we are to this day.

To everyone who has supported us, ridden in our gear, or cheered us on from the beginning—thank you. Here’s to the next ten years.

Bringing Gore-Tex Pro to the cycling industry - our first major achievement, and how we launched things here at 7mesh.

Ten years ago, the technology of Gore-Tex Pro wasn't available in cycling-specific gear, so we set out to change that.

Born was the Revelation Jacket—the first cycling-specific jacket fully articulated to riders featuring the best water protection out there.

Today, Gore-Tex Pro can be found across the industry and within our lineup, featured with our modern-day Skypilot Jacket. The pinnacle of all of our work over the last 10 years, and an example of how much has changed since we first began.

Developing award winning bibs, our next chapter in innovation. Seeing the opportunity to redesign bib technology, we brought Clean Finish Construction to the industry- the first floating chamois built with seams away from strategic tender points.

Launching our MK1 and WK1 bibs provided riders with a new level of comfort, becoming instant staples in our lineup and a huge reason for our success. Now in our third iteration of both products, our core bib technology has stayed the same, including the first-of-its-kind Pull 2 Pee system for Women.

Fan-favourites even to this day, we're proud to strive for new ways to make riders more comfortable, and look forward to doing it for many more years to come.

We've always set out to create products that can take on the toughest of conditions, but back in 2019, @fionakolbinger was one of our first athletes to really put that to the test.

An ultra-endurance rider from Germany, Fiona is known for taking on some of the longest and hardest races around the world, and when she said she wanted to take on the Transcontinental, we set out to provide her with the right tools to be able to do that.

The pinnacle of adventure racing at the time, that 4000km race across Europe turned out to be a proving ground for our bibs, jerseys, and technology, as Fiona went on to become the first female rider to win it - marking a pivotal moment in our product journey and for our community.

To this day, we design with the same guiding ethos—to create the best gear for those who push boundaries and chase true adventure. From the most demanding adventures and far-out races, over the last 10 years we've embraced the challenge of working with athletes like Fiona, and look forward to doing so more many years to come.

Back in 2017 we launched the lightest cycling jacket on the market—a product so good that even we were impressed by its performance.

Weighing just 93g, the Oro quickly became a favorite in the ultra-distance community, prized for its unbeatable protection and breathability. Built with GORE-TEX® Active fabric featuring SHAKEDRY™, it delivered top-tier water resistance while still offering amazing breathability.

The Oro’s popularity was no surprise, and for those who still own one, it continues to be a benchmark of protection. With SHAKEDRY™ technology no longer available, the Oro has become a legacy piece—just one chapter in our 10-year story of pushing innovation.

In 2020, we launched Thunder Pants, a pant designed to redefine wet weather protection and match, our already renowned jacket range.

Putting GORE-TEX to an all-new use, these articulated pants provided riders with full-body protection, quickly becoming a staple item for those looking to ride regardless of the weather.

A work of art from our design team, we were grateful for the challenge of introducing something new to the waterproof lineup and continuing to give our community the best protection out there.

Over our ten years of existence, we’ve learned that designing gear for fall and winter riding can be inherently challenging.

Regulating a rider’s warm body heat while managing cold outside temperature, all-the-while taking sweat into account is truly a fine balancing act, and for a long time, we were dissatisfied by how many materials performed under these conditions.

Because of that, we set out to develop WTV, a multi-year project between our designers and fabric partners to create a fabric specifically for cyclists riding in colder temperatures.

The outcome? A fabric designed to block wind from going in, push moist, sweaty air out, and regulate warm air where you need it most.

A technology we’re beyond proud of and pivotal to our journey, we’re still just as excited about finding new ways to make riders comfortable as we were when we first started. And who knows what new things the future might bring…

Looking back on the launch of the @dirtrelationsfilm, we set out with a simple goal: to tell the story of the @Iympb and to support the people behind it.Over the last ten years, we’ve gone through this journey to better understand the depths of reconciliation with a willingness to learn. Working alongside the @iymbp has been a truly enlightening process, and we’re grateful to have been able to help them put a film together that highlights the good that they’re doing in communities across BC.

We acknowledge that we don’t always get it right when it comes to reconciliation, yet, every step forward has brought us closer to understanding our role as settlers. Something we hold close to our hearts here at 7mesh and something we will continue to do for many years to come.

Our final chapter in celebrating 10 years of adventure: the launch of the Commencal x 7mesh Enduro Team.

Supporting Canadian riders like Weitien, ALN, and Elliot Jamieson has been an incredible milestone for us. From our backyard in Squamish to the world stage, this partnership with Commencal has brought us closer to the grit, endurance, and adventure that defines enduro racing.

The perfect place to test the performance of our products, the Enduro World Series pushes both rider and gear to the absolute limit, and we're continually excited to work with this team to provide them with the best product possible for success.
