97 % of 100
A knee-length version of our all-surface trail short, built for three-season riding and styled for stops at the watering hole.

Have a question? We'd love to hear about your next adventure.

The Farside Long Short features a light and durable high-stretch fabric that wicks fast and won't feel clingy, no matter how high the temperature climbs. Storage comes in the form of two classic hand pockets and a well-placed zippered pocket perfect for stashing a smartphone or light snacks while keeping your legs free to pedal, even over tricky terrain.

Clean finish hems ensure smooth movement throughout the pedal stroke and room for knee pads, while reinforced crotch seams better resist even the roughest rides. A reflective 7mesh logo and a zippered fly complete the short.

So close to perfect, luckily 7Mesh has other options

I'm 78kg, 181cm, 31" waist for reference, longer than average femurs, so usually I'm somewhere in the small to medium size for shorts. I ordered these in a small and medium. Smalls where huge. I had to cinch the waist adjuster all the way tight and still wasn't perfect. The ...

    Comfartable and side pockets!!

I want to start by saying these do run big, so size down!! for reference i am 6'1" and wear 32/32 jeans and i went with a size SMALL, and they fit perfectly. The material is a bit 'swishy', but breaths well in the +100F Texas heat. Ive been searching everywhere for a longer set ...

    Light and long

At 6’3” I’ve had a hard time finding a snugger fitting baggy for commuting and gravel that don’t ride like 80’s hot pants. The inseam on these is excellent, fabric has nice stretch, and fit close enough that I’m not chaffing after 4 hour rides. I ended up sizing down as my usual large ...

    Clean, simple, stylish...great trail shorts!

Clean simple stylish and tough. Great cut - pretty trim in the butt. Good pockets and zip and pull. Just enough stretch that you get the movement you need without feeling like you are in 90's spandex. Great length. 7mesh sends it with style...again!

    Fantastic shorts

Super comfortable and lightweight. Normally I wear a medium in other brands -- all other brands -- but the medium Farsides are huge in the waist for me, I went with a small in these and they're ideal. These are sleeker than styles that support knee pads, so they're perfect for non-techical ...

    The ones…

Well I’ve finally found the perfect trail shorts. Literally just took all my other shorts to the Salvation Army. Perfect volume, length, cut. These are the ones, hopefully they leave them the same and just make more colours.

    Very nice shorts

I really like the far side long. The "swishing" sound when riding with them (it's the fabric moving against your legs) is something you get used to. The rest is worth it -- very light weight, comofortable across a variety of temps and never feeling heavy or stiff, like too many MTB ...

    Great fitting mtb short

Just got these for a xmas present. Great fit. True to size. Looks like just the right amount of stretch to provide freedom of movement and not get hung up! I'll post another review when I've had a chance to take them out for a spin on Squid Line!

    Streamline gravel short

The biggest takeaway for me was how streamline they are. Surprise they have belt loops, as they cinch up nice. Don’t know if I will mnt bike with them, but casual gravel riding these are the best I have found.

Great versality, on and off the trails

Love these shorts - I use them for most times on my big bike, and often for commuting. Fit and pockets are great -- only complaint is the pull string coming undone and falling off the zipper (a zip tie fixes that). In the mid-range of roominess, but the cut is perfect such that you don't notice ...

    Great Shorts

Amazing shorts. Only item to consider is they are narrow around the knee so may not work with all knee pads.
  12. Szechuan

    Great Shorts

Hard to beat these ones. Love the stretch fabric. Definitely generous so size down. I have a 30 inch waist and actually fit a XS.

    Exceptional shorts

I tried it for both XC and All mountain use, very light and very breathable. Show its silicone profile that allows you not to bother with the use of knee pads. Excellent fit even if I had to tighten a lot on the waistline, I took an L but they are wider for the European market.

    Perfect shorts

Great shorts, length and fit of the small is perfect for me (6ft1in and 70kg), and have two pairs now. The zip pocket keeps your phone out of the way, and the front pockets are good for throwing in small things such as half eaten energy bars
  15. Sherwin

    I highly recommend.

Awesome summer trail riding shorts. Well, I tend to wear a lot now on or off trails, riding or just doing leisure activities or just when hanging out. This is my second pair I ordered immediately after trying out my first one. If not so costly I’ll buy more. I’ll still buy for sure when more ...

    Awesome mtb shorts

My favourite summer mtb shorts. Very airy & light, waterproof, material seems strong as I skidded/crash a couple of times already and it hasn’t ripped. I really like the angled zipped pocket for my valuables.
  17. Scott

    Very Comfortable

Very comfortable and not too baggy. Very stylish for after the ride.
  18. Ian

    Solid shorts

Tried the long shorts for a 2 week bikepack trip on the BC trail. Very solid and reliable. Appreciated the longer shorts to keep some of the hot sun off the thighs. The adjustable straps for the waist band are clutch too. Heads up that these fit a bit large. I normally fit size large with 34” ...

  19. Brad

    My new favorite mtb short

I love these shorts. Where have they been all my life? They're great.
  20. Simon

    Bottomless pockets and great flexibility

The side zipper pocket swallows my pump, a packable jacket, or my phone/key fob/snackies and doesn't flop around while pedalling. The longer inseam covers kneepads for zestier rides. I own these shorts in every colour and wear them on and off the bike, they even dry quickly if you take them for ...

    All-Arounder Plus

The regular Farside, which I own 2 pairs, are the original all arounder (hike, gym, bike). And now the extra length on the long version just covers the knees and I was able to comfortably fit my knee pads without looking baggy. For reference I normally wear medium or 32” in Arcteryx but find small ...

  22. red426

    Awesome shorts

I was hoping to get the Glidepath shorts, it wasn’t available so I ordered this instead. I am glad I did. It fits right, feels airy & cool compared to the current mtb shorts I have in rotation, I know already this will great. The quality is great and it looks very nice. I wish there were 2 ...

Love the fit and the pocket!

Yes, I love the pocket, the back pocket on an angle makes riding with your phone or other things stay out of the way when your riding or sitting in the vehicle to get to your location! The material is amazing, especially when it's hot out. I have the Farside in the shorter length which I like, ...

Big Things and actually have a butt

So the problem with most cycling clothes is that if you have big thighs and a butt, they never fit and are super tight on the hips.. Not these.. they fit like a normal pair of shorts, so not only do I not feel ashamed but I feel comfortable in my clothes when I wear these shorts. I also love the ...

  25. Daniel

    Very good choice!

Light weight, quickly adjustable, pockets are placed where they really need to be- my favorite mountain bike pant.
  26. Murman

    Farside Long Short

Best MTB shorts I have ever used! Perfect fit and love the rear leg pocket. They are so nice that you can wear them around town as well. I am 6’2”, 185 and the mediums fit perfectly.
  27. YUP

    Perfect MTB shorts

Light, perfect fit (size S, 179 cm / 70 kg), flexible, nice adjustments. What more could you ask?
  28. Mike Lehmann

    Perfect gravel biking long short!

At 6' 1" with long legs, many gravel biking shorts are, well, too short for me (for example the regular Farside short). The Farside Long Short with a 14.5" inseam and trim leg openings, fit perfectly on top of my bibs for my gravel riding trips and look great. As I know waist sizing ...

    Awesome XC/trail short

Received these shorts a couple of weeks ago and I am very impressed. The fit is perfect for those with longer legs who are looking for something that isn't baggy at all but can still fit knee pads. These work with my lightweight kneepads but also with my DH ones too. Comfy as can be without ...
