Almost all of our manufacturing takes place near Guangzhou in Southern China, with two partners: KTC and UAS. Design, prototyping, wear testing and revision all happen in-house at our Squamish office before anything goes to production.
We're continuing to diversify our manufacturing base, with partners in Asia and Europe joining the mix.
We work directly with mills and vendors globally, and buy materials from Canada, China, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States. We source the best raw materials we can find, and where they don't exist, we develop them.
KTC Knowledge Technology Craft. Austrian-owned, with a long history building technical apparel across sailing, workwear, ski, cycling and outdoor. Founding members of the Fair Wear Foundation, and a certified GORE-TEX® manufacturer.
UAS United Apparel Solutions. Swiss-owned, specialising in high-performance cycling apparel for more than 30 years. Alongside 7mesh, UAS builds for Cuore, Rapha, MAAP and 2XU. Real riders too, last year two of their team rode Unbound Gravel XL while four of ours rode the Unbound 200.
These relationships go well beyond a normal supplier arrangement. We've worked with the same factory owners, management and staff for years, and we think of them as part of the team.
All of our manufacturing partners pass social and environmental audits on a regular basis, and our outerwear partners are certified GORE-TEX® manufacturing facilities. We're developing our own manufacturing Code of Conduct to fold into our manufacturing standards manual, a draft is here.
It's a fair thing to want, and we're not it. Two brands making mountain bike apparel in Canada:
NF: designs and manufactures in British Columbia.
Trees: designs and manufactures in Quebec.
