But by pairing thoughtfully-placed Polartec®️ Alpha insulation with a ripstop nylon outer that both quickly moves moisture out and restricts the air coming in – Freeflow does just that, keeping you comfortably warm, whether you’re working hard on the bars, or hammering a descent.

Men's Freeflow Jacket - Thermal Bike Jacket

Designed to sit slightly off the body, Trim Fit products provide some room for light layering and feature mechanical (fabric) stretch or elastane, combined with articulated patterns.

Trim Fit

First ride wearing, sunny day about 35 degrees F with slight breeze. First off the size L jacket fit very well over 7Mesh LS wool winter jersey without flutter, no creep up in back, and nice fit around neck with no choking feel. Felt like we could use 10-15 degrees colder comfortably. Nice jacket, would recomend w/o hesitation.

Great fit; first ride proved the jacket to be a wise purchase

This jacket is super warm and very packable. The most similar jacket I can compare it to is the MAAP Alt road insulated jacket. This jacket is much warmer than the maap jacket but is also less breathable. The maap jacket is a tighter fit while this jacket is fairly well fitted but not race fit, which may be better for layering in the coldest weather. I find the maap jacket to be better while pedaling while this jacket is better for throwing on before a long descent. Both serve their purpose very well. 

The only fault I can find with this jacket is the zipper. I really wish it came with a two piece locking zipper. The jacket does not have rear pockets, so a two piece zipper would be nice to allow you to unzip the bottom to reach your jersey pockets underneath. Since this zipper is not locking, I’ve also had the jersey unzip itself when I leave it partially unzipped for ventilation. 

Overall, it’s a great jacket. If they gave it a two piece locking zipper, it would be 5 stars and faultless in my opinion.

Great Jacket, Best Jacket I’ve Tried for Cold Mountainous Riding

I live in Southern California and in the winter it gets to around 4C (40F) in the early morning and warms up to 15C (60F). Humidity is around 40-60% sometimes.

Thought this jacket would be perfect for those early morning road/gravel rides but dang does this jacket get warm! I wear a simple base layer with a light weight race long sleeve jersey and when I push push it gets really warm. I find that there this jacket traps a lot of heat and it isn't able to vent out efficiently. 

Still trying to find a way to make this jacket work with the current setup of cycling clothes I have. Because this jacket is constructed very well and it would be a waste to not wear it.

Gets Really Warm But Maybe Not Meant For SoCal Winters

I got this amazing Freeflow jacket about a year ago and I will use it for many more years for sure!
This jacket is the perfect bonus gear for very cold days! Feeling a bit chilly and suffering from the cold wind during a ride? Clip the jacket off your bars or take it out of your jersey pocket and paf! Instant heat and comfort!
This is not the type of jacket people should wear during very active and sweaty rides but it's an excellent add on to slip in when the descent is showing up or when you're getting a bit chilly.
If you want to keep riding in the winter, the Freeflow jacket will have your back!

Game Changer

I got it on sale, and it was definitely worth it. I think probably it would've been worth it if I'd bought it at full price.
I took it for a ride today--light drizzle, 2C at the bottom of my ride, about -1C at the top. I rode up mostly unzipped (so you know my other layers were good) and zipped up for the way down. It was MUCH warmer than I was expecting. I got home, and the inside of the jacket was very wet, presumably from condensation, but that didn't stop the jacket from being warm and comfortable. Just that little bit extra lining helps so much. I'm looking forward to carrying it as an emergency jacket in the spring when conditions can really turn on a dime. 

I would say that as someone with a 110cm chest (116cm if I breathe deep) the XL binds a *little* tightly when I first zip up, but eventually settles into place. Still, there's not a lot of room in there. If you're any bigger across the chest and shoulders, go for the XXL.

Even better than I was expecting

This is the perfect jacket for those shoulder season adventures when you aren't sure just how long the ride will take or if the weather will take a horrendous turn. With the stash system I strap it to my bars or frame and forget about, until I really need it. Between the Polartec insulation for guaranteed warm and it's packability with the stash system it really is a one of a kind jacket allowing the adventures to go longer into the shoulder season.

The best 'get out of jail warm' jacket

I love the fluffy polartec interior, great fit and a warm yellow color. 186cm and 110 kilo and got the xxl, fits me perfect!

Light and warm

This jacket hits five stars in so many areas, super warm, good fit, nice stash pocket, crazy like and packable and super windproof. However it has one serious flaw for me, no two way zip. This makes it impossible to quickly vent it and so moisture builds up to such an extent that it becomes unrideable in - water was literally trickling into my gloves. A far from ideal scenario on a long ride! If you don’t ride hard or sweat much this maybe a perfect jacket for you.

So close but no coconut!

I adore this jacket for spring and late / early winter riding. It would be perfect except please for the love of god add a double zipper. Warm riding jackets without the ability to unzip from the bottom are extremely mid.

This thing just doesn’t breathe. As others noted, moisture just builds up inside to an incredible degree. I also have the Rebellion jacket with goretex active and I honestly believe it breathes better than this. A rare miss for 7mesh. I would *highly* recommend the Cypress jacket instead. That jacket blocks the wind and also somehow breathes incredibly well. Paired with the ashlu jersey today I did 15mi and was both completely comfortable and completely dry at ride’s end.
