Great mid-weight jacket for cycling and hiking

I have used the Oro jacket for cycling for 2 years. It's perfect for that purpose, but I needed a Gore-Tex jacket with more room and mobility for hiking. The Revelation is ideal: there is room for layers beneath. The hood design (under the helmet works well for over the hat/headband) is nice and snug. It's perfectly rain-proof. It's also light and packable for when the rain stops. I wish it had an inside breast pocket. I haven't had it long, but it looks well-constructed and I expect durability to be good.

I'm in Love!

I was thinking about this (expensive) jacket for such a long time - and now I am in Love! I had several long rides in all crazy weather conditions. 5°C and 5 hours of heavy rain, wind and mud. Worked perfectely for this heavy conditions. Finally riding with a relaxed neck because no rain entering. I really like the tight hood and the peak and its perfect shape and material. With that I even was able to keep my glasses on in spite of hours of rain. I know that Goretex says that the membranes work best without additional zippers for ventilation, but staying on the bike the whole day and night with a huge temperature range I don't want to miss them. The only critic: why isn't there a woman's cut? With Woman's sizes I am between M and L. With this mens Jacket XS works quite good. The width of the shoulders is relaxed but not too bulky, waist very good, only at the bottom it is a tiny little bit tight. It works very good though - for some reason it doesn't move up at all. Overall I am very happy with the decision.

Having now worn my Revelation

Having now worn my Revelation jacket in just about every brutal weather condition, I'll say it's the best jacket I've ever had. From cold, windy days bikepacking in the high Sonoran Desert of AZ to an early spring tour from WA to CA during snow storms, rain, hail and cold winds, it worked every time. For that last trip I pretty much didn't take it off for almost 4 weeks straight. Medium size allows me to have a puffy underneath when needed. The cuffs are a tad small, but I use Gossamer Gear rain mitts over them so it worked well. The only issue I've had is the left side snap for the hood, which would come undone frequently. Am not sure how to address that, but a more burly snap would help. I do like having the hood under my helmet and it allowed good visibility and protection. Easily my favorite piece of kit!

I bought this jacket to

I bought this jacket to replace my aging Pace 3x3 eVent jacket for winter riding. Had it about a month now. I was wanting to try a jacket with a removable hood but didn't want the over the helmet variety that seems so popular now. Can't see how that would work with a helmet light for night riding. Hood adjusted perfectly to fit my head with no loss of peripheral vision. The jacket has been made very well and offers me a perfect on bike fit, it is very comfortable to wear, quite fitted but with room enough to layer up underneath. It's waterproofing, breathability and wind proofing are all top notch. All in all a brilliant jacket for riding in wet, windy and cold weather. Buy it if you want awesome weather protection and a fantastic fit and can swallow the wallet busting price. I hope this jacket lasts a long time to justify it's price. My only niggle - could do with a little more room at the cuff to make it easier to fit the sleeve over winter gloves. I bought a size small. I only discovered 7mesh recently, but now have this jacket and a pair of thunderpants. So impressed with my new garments, I bought my wife a pair of thunderpants too. Keep up the great work 7mesh, I am looking forward to adding more of your great gear to my mtb wardrobe very soon.

I've got all together too

I've got all together too many rain jackets, mostly because they all let me down in various ways, so I was looking for a 100% waterproof breathable jacket that I could ride in all day and stay dry. This one ALMOST does it. The good: truly waterproof, great on bike and off bike fit, vents operable with one hand while riding, zip pockets very useful feature. Needs improvement: the hood needs better adjustment features, particularly something that will cinch around the neck. I found it way too loose on my head. The cuffs on my size small need to be wider. If the jacket is advertised as an all day downpour rider, the cuffs need to be wide enough to fit OVER a pair of winter gloves. First glove, with bare hand pulling the cuff over, barely fits, the second, with a gloved hand doing the same thing . . . forget it. Compared to my friend's size XL, his cuffs are HUGE and he barely keeps them closed with the velcro tab provided. At the top, the jacket needs to be higher on the neck and adjustable for the big neck boys, because mine collects water there which makes it pointless. To justify the price tag, this jacket needs to keep me absolutely dry and currently I can't solve the loose neck problem and the narrow cuffs. Looking forward to seeing if these shortcomings are addressed in the next iteration.

I got this beauty just

I got this beauty just in time to start commuting in the midst of atmospheric rivers, and even by Pac Nor'West standards, the rain has been torrential this winter. I have other waterproof pieces that seeped at the seams, but not this gem! The fit is also genius - suave when off the bike, but perfect positioned on it! Top flight jacket for top flight performance.

So far the Revelation Jacket

So far the Revelation Jacket is living up to its name, what a revelation! The attention to detail is great with 7mesh items, so glad I found the brand, will be kitting myself up for the upcoming winter season for sure.
