Have a question? We'd love to hear about your next adventure.

Thunder Pant came to life because we were tired of getting soaked in Squamish. The rain comes from all angles in British Columbia’s wettest town, and while our tops were toasty, our legs needed shelter. So we started working on fully waterproof trail longs that wouldn’t stand out as being anything other than awesome adventure pants - until it rains.

We made Thunder Pant with GORE-TEX® Pro and the most durable GORE-TEX® to offer a combination of impregnable water protection, best-in-class breathability, and exceedingly high levels of durability in repeat friction areas like the seat and upper legs. And it’s built to put on while wearing shoes - even over other pants - thanks to the velcro-secured stretch fabric at the end of the legs, and watertight zippers. A fly-free front gives way to stretch panels and straightforward side buckles at the waist to help dial in a perfect fit.

To cater to different leg lengths, Thunder Pant features a trimmable cuff. If you need to shorten them, pull out some scissors and cut the cuffs along the pre-marked lines. Then ride and repeat until they’re the perfect length.

    Actually waterproof!

Had many waterproof shorts over the years and finally bit the bullet on the thunder pants. Doesn’t matter how wet it is out there they keep you dry. A zip on the front would be a welcome addition as would a little more room for knee pads as I’ve had to buy some that are slightly less bulky to ...

  2. Wygati

    Well made, works very well

Kept me warm and dry in recent downpours. Lightweight, fit is great, breath very well. The quality so far (a month) is good. The long leg zippers make on and off easy and quick, including over hiking boots. Have used them for road and mountain biking and hiking. The unique cuff is a great idea. ...

  3. Rob

    sublime fit and comfort

The waist construction is sublime and the on-bike fit is next level. It's a bit annoying (for blokes) going for a pee as they're is no zipper. I 6ft 2" and medium fits perfect. I haven't cut the neoprene cuffs as i left i wanted the length they offered. Gore-tex pro is bomb proof ...

  4. Adam

    Properly waterproof

Being new to the long pants phenoma, I tried a pair with just DWR coating. which were OK, but I wanted waterproof! Bought these around a month ago, and have since worn them numerous times. The on bike fit is superb, the fasteners are excellent, although answering a call of nature on the trail can ...

    THE last layer

These will keep you dry. They breathe well and they sleeve around the angle is just perfect against the elements. Just wish it had a bigger pocket.
  6. Richard

    Does the job very well

The odd cut is excellent when on the bike, barely notice you're in pants. Noisy material as expected, should soften over time. Used for a few winter rides, wet and dry and was comfortable for these conditions. Premium+ price, you get what you pay for. Can't comment on durability yet, ...

  7. Alec

    Amazing riding pants!

I could not be happier with the Thunder Pants! They fit perfectly over your knee pads, and the leg zips allow you to easily take them off after a ride, without needing to remove your shoes! The pocket placement keeps your phone behind your thigh, maintaining maximum manoeuvrability and comfort when ...

  8. NukeProof Chad

The greatest pants of all time

They keep you dry in a downpour. Waist is perfect even with riding shorts underneath. The best part is you can wear knee pads and unzip after a ride to get them off. Dry, Dry, Dry is all I can say after many rides. Worth every penny.
  9. Richard

Really good pants but weird waist cut

Really really good pants. Have used them for roughly five 1 hour rides so can't comment on long term durability but the quality is very good. So far have tested them in 0 to +3 celsius temperature un slushy roads and tracks and have beed very warm while wearing them over winter tights. I have ...

    bombproof ultra durable rain pants

I own the pants since release - with 192cm and 93kg I am a long heavier type. Regarding the size, I opted for L instead of XL, because a certain body fit was important to me - due to the self-shortening leg length, the pants fit like a glove. Today was one of those days on which I could not deny ...

  11. Dave

    Guaranteed dryness

I have yet to get wet wearing these, which given my previous experiences of waterproof bike trousers is impressive in itself. Add to this the stretch strips at the bottom of the trousers which mean they can sit outside my boots and don’t just fill them with water makes them perfect for winter ...

  12. Charles

Expensive as hell - but a great product

Great product. Fantastic attention to detail. They have thought of pretty much everything. Definitely waterproof. Fit exceptionally well. Leg length adjustment is innovative and works well. I have a 29.5" inside leg (& that 0.5" is important....) so for me ,with all previous trousers I ...

  13. Benoit

    Most exiting rain pants ever

These pants are probably the most exiting piece of gear I've owned in a while.

  14. Sylvain

    Thunder Pants

Excellent fit. Best cycling rain pants for mountain biking. Worth the $$$
  15. Kyle

Overall these pants do exactly what they say. Keep you dry!!! Only downfall that I have found is that they are tight around my knee pads. No matter what I will always ride with pads and would have liked to see a little more material in that area. Belt loops would have been great too. The pants ...

    Ambassador Review/Athlete Pick

The Thunderpants have been a godsend this winter, motivating me to get out in all those wet weather days, not just keeping my lower half dry but warm as well.
  17. Adam

    Incredible rain pants

Rain pant luxury. I've previously owned many other top brands rain pants, but none of them had the performance cut of the Thunder Pant. When I commute with them I have to take my wallet and phone out of my pockets - that's how good the thigh fit is. The only waterproof pants I would ever ...

  18. CoachAckerley

    Should have bought 2 pairs

Sure, these aren't cheap. But like all the 7mesh stuff, the fit (on the bike) and articulation are perfect. The fit probably favours a slimmer thigh - I'm 6'3 215lbs and my thighs feel a bit snug. Oh and the crash replacement! I smashed a hole in the knee on like the third ride and ...

  19. Gavin

    Riding Season Extender

These pants are worth every penny if you want to continue to ride in any weather. I've clocked about 15 rides in mine so far, as well as a handful of days commuting in the rain. I use mine for both MTB laps and gravel adventures and find that they fit well for either, and work very well with my ...

  20. Jake

    No1 pants

I’ve had a good few very wet rides in them and have never been wet yet! Pants really are fitted to riding, they stay under your coat and don’t leave a gap when you’re moving around on the bike. They don’t have any tight spots when pedalling in the seat and are comfortable all day long! At ...

  21. Cvachi

    Great, light and 100% waterpoof

Purchased these not only for bike, but for hiking as well. Great fit, 100% waterproof material, manufactured superbly. May use suspenders as the waist adjustment seems a little flimsy.
  22. sjm

    Very good pant

Only had for a few weeks, but has performed well in <5C and in the rain. High back and full-tibia-length zippers are great. Trimmed up the length on the first day. Minor item: the lower leg zippers catch really easily on the subflap near the ankle.
  23. Yannick

    Ride and don’t care

That’s the best piece ever because most the time when it’s that nasty outside I’d be doing something else but with the pants I just don’t care I stay dry warm and comfortable for the most part given that it’s wet cold in nasty and now I don’t have to clean up several piece of clothing, I ...

  24. Tom

How have I gone years without these?!

I know these are brand new, but I could have done with these years ago! Transformed my winter riding completely and now ride far more just because I know I'm going to stay warm and dry. Teamed with my Guardian jacket and a baselayer, these are perfect for winter riders here in the UK, worn them ...

  25. Chris

    Super versatile, super waterproof

From bikepacking to gravel riding to mountain biking to road biking, the Thunder pants have been a go-to piece for me when riding in the rain. I run a size small, and am lean enough to wear some really thin knee pads underneath, which I've found to be awesome. That said, I’ve been using them ...

  26. Dominic

The best pants ! Worst courier!

The pants are the most waterproof and breathable piece of kit I’ve ever used. Real shame the courier service is so unhelpful and unreliable.
  27. Jeremy

    World (and Weather) Beating Pant

I've probably bought and been disappointed with five 'waterproof' pants over the years for cycling, so I was excited to see that 7mesh had added waterproof pants to their range. I have many items of 7mesh clothing and I've yet to be disappointed. True to form, the Thunder Pants ...

The Pant I Was Waiting For A Long Time

A Pant that you can wear on your daily commutes (you can even wear them with more slim fit jeans underneath) so it's perfect for your way to work. They keep you dry forever! Work great with overshoes cause the lower part can be snug up so no rain is coming in from the bottom. It's also a ...

  29. Cvachi

    Absolute water and wind protection!

Did not really need those, but love them from first try. They provide absolute water and wind protection, great riding fit, two way waterproof ventings. Great idea is the neoprene hem at ankle. Little bit weird is the absence of zipper fly, but you have two adjustments at hips. Superb protection for ...
