Wonderful bib ruined by chamois
I love 7mesh and own a bunch of their gear, so I really wanted to love these. The bibs fit really well, with the anatomical shaping and thoughtful construction I'd expected from 7mesh. The killer for me, though, is the chamois. It's VERY aggressively "multi-density", meaning there is a very firm section under the sit bones and extending forward, surrounded by a softer zone. I found this to significantly change the butt-saddle interface, in a bad way; it made my saddle feel too wide, to the point that it created some significant pain/bruising in my upper hamstring/sit bone area. (I've put many thousands of miles on this saddle model and never had a similar issue before.) This is a real bummer, and something I wish high-end bibs would avoid; I have a saddle that I like, I don't need the chamois to try to be a second saddle, just some subtle padding and anti-chafing please! These clearly work for some and the fit is great, but a no-go for me unfortunately.

Really comfortable bib shorts. The straps are buttery smooth and just a delight to have on. The pad is supportive and comfortable and the 'floating' design works well.
The thigh pockets are well placed, easy to use and well designed. The fabric is not just a flat rectangle sewn on as other cargo shorts i've tried, but instead the pocket is designed to have a 'depth' to accommodate more stuff. The pockets on the lower back mean you can wear these with a normal t-shirt if you want. Personally i always wear a jersey anyway, so these pockets don't get much use. Even with full jersey pockets i have discovered that they were handy for holding small, flat items like my ID card and cash when bikepacking.
These (and the normal version) have quickly become the first shorts i reach for regardless of what type of ride i'm planning.
I've used them for everything from short and fast gravel rides races to epic 12-hour + rides and multi day bikepacking adventures. I can wholly recommend them for all.
My only quibble is that, for me, the bottom of the leg gripper has over time started to roll up.

Comfy chamois, good fit, I'm 5'10" 30ish inch waist and I ordered a small. Pockets are ideal for extra gels, phone, multi tool. Shoulder straps are wide and don't cut in.

these are quite possibly the
these are quite possibly the best engineered bib shorts I've ever worn. it's such a detraction from traditional bib short design evident in the way the paneling is designed and the clever use of materials. at first glance it seems like it would be a stiff fit compared to other shorts but once on the fit and comfort are immediately apparent. everything on these bibs just works. I even second guessed the straps thinking they would be loose and not supportive enough but I was pleasantly mistaken. I love that the pockets are not mesh or thin and they are deceptively roomy. the chamois is very comfortable as well. cannot wait for more colourways in these!
